These Guys

What always most impressed about reading about the art is that there were times in which artist believed they could change the world. This is especially true for for example the sixties generation.

They try out new things to create new language, new ways of communication, new ways to break with the old, new ways to understand what progress even really is about. Of course due to the experimental nature of such a project lots of meaning is lost along the way and much art has lost a popular basis of understanding, which is truly problematic.

This example right here though some to pose a counterexample. Why? Because they manage to subvert the meaning of things that are part of the everyday imagination of the people. They go to areas that have a collective significance and subvert its meaning in a way relevant to that time and space. They truly engage with to and for groups of people in society. Its a temporary thing and the only things that last are stories.
