The Dying of Giants

A message that deeply saddens me today is the news of the Elder Trees on the planet dissappearing. Even more so than our own Elderly the Elderly trees are entities from a different era. they have grown big and wise, withstanded many challenges and now they provide spaces to live for many, many different communities of birds beast, beetles and bacteria.

Together with fungi trees can be the oldest and biggest living forms of this planet. They together provide the infrastructure on which the web of life in forests is formed. Without them our planet´s face is much different and our lives are much different.

Its paints a very honest picture of the knowledge we have already lost that we allow this to happen collectively. One half of the population is struggling to survive while the other is struggling to keep up with their sitcoms.

We will see what will come at us. All i hope is that I will find a nice place to create a little food forest and sustain biodiversity with my bare hands, not exactly in the same way the Old Generations did, but definately in the same spirit.
